Sdp payment

Hi everybody hope everyone is well.
I posted here recently about waiting for Sdp premium as I was sent an is10 for not too long ago. After a few phone calls i made to esa they told me my case is historic going back quite a while and it’s being looked at.
Tonight I was paid £76.40 more than I usually would with my fortnightly money which I’m guessing is Sdp premium for 1 week. I wasn’t contacted by phone or recieved any letters about this. Is it normal to get 1 week of sdp added without notice? And what about the historic payment they kept going on about? Is that seperate? I will be calling them in the morning.

Sounds normal to me, it means they've now added it to your ESA going forward, which in my opinion should have been done much sooner. You should receive a letter to tell you it's been included in your ESA.The historic payment could be a different story for timescale. Unfortunately, you'll just need to wait.0

Hi Poppy thanks for your reply, I tried to phone the number as I mentioned before it’s different to normal esa number and it says the number you have dialled is unrecognised, why is nothing ever easy???Im gonna try the regular helpline that takes ages to through on. The other number that’s not recognisable used to put me straight through, like it was a special department dealing with my case and now that payment sorted they’ve got rid of the number…so strange.0

I’ve completely confide confused myself the amount wasn’t £76.40 paid extra, there was an amount close to that paid extra but just realised it says jsa on my bank statement, I don’t claim jsa I’m so confused.0

I saw I read something about being paid with Jsa manually it’s a one off payment is that correct, I don’t understand any of this0

With the benefits increase payments will be slightly more than usual but not the full amount until your May payment.1 -
After hours of waiting on the line I got through to esa and the lady said it’s not Sdp that’s been added but apparantley my esa has gone clerical and because of that the money they paid manually today wouldn’t have my deductions included on it that normally get taken off. She wasn’t able to look at my esa cos it’s crashed or something along those lines taken off the systems I don’t really know what clerical is. Is this whole clerical a good thing or bad thing?0

It’s all a bit of a mess by the sound of it I’m sure I read something on these forums about clerical but I can’t remember.0

A claim going clerical means there's been a fault with the system and it's wiped all your information from it. The claim now needs to be rebuilt by hand.Whilst this is being done when you ring ESA to ask about your SDP they may not be able to give you any information because there's likely no information on the system about your claim.Your ESA payments may continue to be manually paid whilst this is being dealt with and yes it could delay the historic SDP claim.1

wow that sounds like a lot of hard work.
but if everything wiped from system how will they know my dates eligible, and do they manually put everything back on the system? No wonder these things take time.0 -

Your claim will need to be rebuilt manually. I have no idea about the answer to the question with the dates.

Does it mean I gotta apply again for esa or will it go back normally once rebuilt. I honestly havnt had much info from them over the phone apart from being told as it goes so far back everything has to be checked thoroughly which gives me the impression could be dealing with a high amount. It’s been repeated everytime I spoke with someone.0

No, you don't need to claim ESA again because you're already claiming it.

Oh ok that’s good, I was really trying to take my mind off this but getting a wrong payment today seems to have had the opposite affect my head is literally pounding now.0

It's nothing to worry about at all and your ESA payments will be paid as normal but manually paid until the issue is sorted.Try to think about something else, i appreciate that it's not easy to do but ringing ESA often like this can't be helping your anxiety.0

You are right Polly, I was really Tryna put it in the back of my mind only reason I called today was extra payment, but yes calling doesn’t help me at all, they literally tell me nothing anyway whenever I do. All the best.0
