Goodness this old thread was really buried (I didn’t want to start a new thread as I thought a past commenter on this thread my have my answer.
Context:
my current pip award “ends” (but rolls on until the pip review decision) end of July
The dwp received my pip review paperwork the very start of oct 2022 (so 7 and a half months ago) and it’s common for people to be waiting over a year for a decision and most will get a phone call version of the f2f (I haven’t had a review f2f yet)
My current award is only the standard level of the daily living component and as there’s only 4 points between no award and enhanced award in reality the review could swing either way.

so out of the blue I got this text from the dwp:
“About your PIP review. The health professional has sent us their report.We will make a decision on your PIP, but it may take 6 weeks before you hear from us.You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed.You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.”In all honestly I didn’t think I’d hear back from the dwp til mid to late summer earliest after reading others experiences and I thought I’d almost certainly have the phone assessment before a decision was made so this text has thrown me for a loop as it wasn’t what I was expecting and I’m panicking because of that
Am I right in thinking that the dwp are skipping past the phone assessment and going straight to the decision?
if that is the case has anyone on here avoided the review phone assessment and the decision either downgrading or losing pip altogether?
as I said I don’t do well with the unexpected
(edit: my mum who nominated her contact details instead of mine in the review (we only just found out we can nominate someone on my behalf to receive dwp contact on review forms) got a short phone call a fortnight back to go over the review and she didn’t tell me as she didn’t want to worry me…….sadly I’m still a hot mess)0 -
@apple85 sounds like you've had a paper based assessment. This means there was enough of information to write the report without an assessment. Not a bad thing in my opinion but you'll need to wait for the decision. This can now take anything up to about 12 weeks.

Yes, it's perfectly normal. I know it's difficult but try to focus on something else while you wait.

I received this text last Friday and while I know it's just an automated message, I was praying I'd be as lucky as some people appear to have been on here and hear good news soon after receiving it..
The frustrating thing is it was 2 weeks after my assessment and I was slowly managing to stop focusing and worrying about how my assessment went and I wasn't thinking about it all the time but then I got that message and immediately started thinking about it all again 😭

This is an old thread but the advice remains the same. The text is a standard text and doesn't mean anything other than what it says.

I got a txt today and it said decision not made yet, we will write to you when the decision is made, is that all standard or is that not good because they are saying they will write to me, meaning that I have not passed or is it just normal message.

It means exactly what it says and nothing more. Yes, they will send a decision letter regardless of what that decision is.
If it’s a first time claim and there’s an award they may send a text but not always.

Ok thanks. Just was bit put off with the bit were it say, "they will write with the decision", think my brain over though the message. Hopefully I do not have to wait to much longer as it is very stressful.

Not sure if this is a silly question but I applied for PIP for both dyslexia and chronic migraines, I pretty sure I have not pass the assessment but in the assessment do they score both conditions separate or together, so basically do I have to get over 8 points on both individually or is it combination of both issues.

You don't score points for the conditions or diagnosis itself. That's not what PIP is about. You score points if you meet the descriptors. PIP is all about how your conditions affect you agains the 12 PIP activities. The daily living part includes washing/dressing/undressing/ toilet needs/preparing a simple meal/budgeting etc etc and there's 10 activities. For mobility there's 2… following and planning a journey which applies to those with mental health, sensory or cognitive impairments. Moving around part applies to physical conditions.
The daily living and mobility are added up separately and you need to score at least 8 points for standard award and at least 12 points for Enhanced.

Thanks, most people said that they requested there assessment report, can you do that anytime because I was going to ring them up and ask for mine but on the text, it said not to ring them only if you're circumstances change.
