Pip Assessment

I had my pip assesment today and just wanted to make a comment on how lovely the assesor was. They knew more about autism than even i did and asked questions that helped me to give appropriate answers for the claim.

Theres a lot of negative experiences but i really wanted to share this positive one.

I still have no hope for the decision letter in 8 weeks but thats down to dwp. 

Good luck to anyone who has an assesment soon and please dont be afraid to ask for help.

I did also want to ask if an over 2h assesment is normal? 

And is a decision typically sooner than 8 weeks?

    Glad it went ok. 2 hours is within the normal timescale for the assessment. 

    Decisions can take anything up to about 12 weeks once the report is returned to DWP.

    The time the assessment takes has no 'bearing' on the decision, there have been shorter and longer assessments, it's just that they needed more information to fully understand how the conditions effect you from one day to the next. From the time the DWP receive the assessment report, you are looking at 12 weeks, it could be shorter, but that's the timeline they quote. In the meantime distraction is your friend when you start thinking about it.
