Just wondering if anybody had an increase in housing benefit, inline with other benefits going up? It states on GOV website that housing benefit will go up, and its now May and mine hasn't increased. I'm in North West (Liverpool)

If you're privately renting your home then the local housing allowance rates did not increase at all. The rates remain the same as they were before 10th April.

You have probably misread the information. It’s been quite a few years since the LHA was increased.0

Hi yes just scroll down this page. It’s also posted on the webpages that talk about benefit uplifts from April 2023. All of them mention housing benefit. So it’s a it confusing https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/housing-benefit-adjudication-circulars-2023/a12023-housing-benefit-uprating-for-the-financial-year-ending-march-20240

I can understand the confusion.
Housing Benefit rates were increased. However, those who rent in the private sector have their Housing Benefit capped by the application of the Local Housing Allowance.(LHA). The LHA has been frozen and in most cases the LHA sets the amount received in the private sector because the LHA is lower than the amount of HB (or housing element of UC) that would otherwise apply. Therefore most claimants in the private sector have seen a freeze in what they get.0
