Universal credit 3rd party debts (council tax arrears)

Hi, I had a message in my journal this morning that said they have agreed to pay my council, council tax arrears, I have phoned uc and asked roughly how much will be taken and they had no clue! I already pay a advance repayment and a budgeting loan repayment so this will be the 3rd debt taken, I have looked on the Web but can’t find how much they can take for council tax arrears, could anybody help, I suffer with anxiety to the point I’m physically sick and waiting a week to find out when my statement is ready to view seems like a lifetime.     When phoning you are actually speaking to an outsourced call centre, the figure is 5%.

    @bg844 thankyou for that although someone has just said 25 percent so now I’m confused 🤷🏻‍♀️😆

    Sorry I correct myself the comment after yours took me to a link and it states 25 percent

    Note too that the maximum is 25% of the standard allowance only (not 25% of your total maximum entitlement).

    As calcotti has said, it’s 25% maximum of your standard allowance for all debts. The 5% figure is the maximum for Council Tax arrears.
