A pension weekly/monthly income will reduce any Income Related ESA £1 for £1. For contributions based ESA pensions of up to £85/week are ignored. There's a 50p/week deduction for every £1 over this amount. If part of his ESA is Income Related then there must be an amount included for you so your pension will reduce this £1 for £1.If he's receiving more than £129.50/week then at least part of it will definitely be Income Related. For this reason i don't see any point in taking a weekly/monthly income from it.0

Hello @beetroot and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you doing?
Has Poppy's answer helped clarify things in your mind about taking your private pension? I hope so! Any things unclear, please do ask away.
I've tweaked the title of your thread to help others find it, and hope you have a great weekend. All the best.0 -

With out knowing full details of your joint finances it isn’t possible to know whether the ESA is correct. Try using a benefits calculator.beetroot said:Hi my husband was getting £235.20 esa every 2 weeks since April it’s gone to £259 every 2 weeks his private pension is £207.45 every calendar month and I get carers for a disabled daughter is this right
