MR posted, shall I ring as well?

I completed a CRMR1 form for a mandatory reconsideration of my PIP decision and posted it off last week.
My question is, should I also ring to tell them I've submitted a MR request, while it's still within one month of the original decision letter? I read that it can take ages for post to be opened and received in the correct department, once it's been signed for.
Will the fact I've sent it within one month be sufficient or is it best to call as well?
Thanks

Hello TrickeyjacketNo you do not need to telephone PIP about your MR. If you have sent it in before the 1 month deadline then it should be ok. You have 1 month after your descision letter to request an MR but you also have 13 months to request a MR by letter is a good reason is given for a late MR request (the reason could be your mental health or your disability). If it is refused for being late then you can got straight to appeal.Nasturtium0

Thanka Nasturtium, that's what I thought but wanted to check! I love your name btw. Mine is auto-generated so it doesn't mean anything but it amused me so I kept it!1

Here's an update on case others are in a similar position.
I received a text from DWP today, one week after they had received my MR form, confirming they'd received it. It said they will be in touch again once they have looked at it again. So it's good to know it's in the system0 -
Thanks for this update @trickyjacket and let us know when you hear more
