The definition is set out in section 6 of the Equality Act 2010. It says you’re disabled if:
- you have a physical or mental impairment
- that impairment has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this site and have read through a lot of the comments about PIP which have helped me a lot through my own process. So Thankyou. ♥️
I have MS and I'm currently waiting on the decision from my telephone assessment review. Like most of you, I feel it's a demeaning procedure, insulting as well as stressful, for most of us with a medically diagnosed illness.
I just wanted to say that I wish you all the best result, because you all deserve it.
Much love and hugs 💋

It was just under 3 weeks for me once I'd had my assessment to decision. Good luck1

Thankyou for the reply, hopefully it is sooner rather than later. 🙂

Having only the mobility award will make no difference because you're still claiming PIP. You must have received a payment (or later receive a payment) for 1 April 2023 to get the Disability Cost of Living Payment. If you did then you'll be entitled to it. Payment will be between 20th June and 4th July.

That means you will not be entitled to the £150 because your award doesn't start until after the qualifying period.

The £150 cost of living payment is a one off payment so there's no further payments after the next one.

Based on other comments for blonde, the reason they weren't awarded from when they first rang to start their claim is because of the 3 month rule.

At the moment there's no further payments after this one. You can't say you will qualify because there's no further payments to qualify for anything.

don't be rushed giving answers. If you need a 2 / 3 minutes break ask for a 'time out', stay calm. You are going to be fine.

The wait makes me really anxious thank you.Sometimes there can be a delay in returning the form if it's been chosen for audit. If it has it's nothing to worry about, it just means they are checking the assessor did their job correctly. The only bad thing is that it does delay the decision making process because it can't be made until the report is returned.Once it is returned a decision can take anything up to 12 weeks.0
