What did you want to be when you grew up?

With the summer holidays drawing closer, I have children amongst my family and friends who are finishing exams and enjoying end of the school year treats, like amusement park trips and prom.
It got me thinking, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a singer like Shania Twain. Saying I strangle cats when I try is putting it lightly! 😂

When I was younger I always wanted to work on a lighthouse.3

I was in the wrong year at school, I should have been in the year below, I was born in late August, the new year starts in early September. That made me 'extra rubbish', had I been in the right year, I would have been just 'rubbish'.0

@rebel11 Why a bellhop? I always think of a Hollywood movie, is that where you saw them first?
@66Mustang You aren't afraid of heights then!
@michael57 My friends husband works on a dairy farm. What kind of cows did you have?
@C_J Are you a fan of the sea?
@woodbine I pray every time I put the lottery on1 -

Yes and my job description would be simple 'push button' to go up, 'push button' to go down, eaves drop on secret conversations, pass that information onto 'SMASH', a counter intelligence organisation.0 -
Wanted to be an archaeologist when I was very young.
By the time I was leaving school I just wanted a trade, plumber or electrician.1 -

@Hannah_Scope I've always been interested in the sea but when I was younger lighthouses fascinated me for some reason.2

@C_J Have you visited any?0

I haven't ever visited a lighthouse, but definitely done a lot of historical sites over the years. My grandparents live in South Wales. So we always visited castles as kids
I recently went to Charlecote Park, for a visit, was lovely!

An archaeologist.But then at 9 I realised I was scared of skeletons and that might come up. Then I moved onto astrophysicist.Ended up being neither but keep hobby interests in both! No longer scared of skeletons either.3
-
Oh no! @michael57 What did the farmer move onto next?
@rustledjimm Glad you are no longer scared! Have you seen the article on the new species of dinosaur found on the Isle of Wight?!0 -
A vet then a zoologist, I've always related more to animals than humans! I switched from wanting to do zoology to psychology when I was about 16/17 because of a desire to understand humans. Apparently not an uncommon experience for autistic girls0
-
@DayDreamBeliever I studied psychology too! Did you want to work with animals broadly or did you have a specific animal you wanted to work with?0

I'm the third that wanted to be an archaeologist. I did go on a dig when I was 13, but they didn't show me anything to keep my interest up, I was just on the wheelbarrow!0
