New Carers Allowance Application Question
It's been 4 weeks and heard nothing. Worried that they haven't received the details they requested in the post of my wife's earnings and wondered if you can submit this online or email. Should they have acknowledged the receipt of the documents received as they do with PIP applications etc.

Really? most stuff online said average 3 weeks and at most 6 - 8 weeks! Several months seems a little excessive to be honest.0

Hello @Nick_9_. Unfortunately it does seem there are still long waiting times in some areas. Mobilise (a community for carers) have added the following information to their 2023 page on Carer's Allowance:
"How long does it take to get Carer's Allowance?
It usually takes between three and six weeks to receive your Carer’s Allowance decision.
But we’re hearing from our community of carers that a backlog of claims means it can take between 12 to 15 weeks."
Of course this is only anecdotal and some people are receiving decisions much quicker. Fingers crossed your wife won't be waiting too much longer.

Quickest I’ve heard recently is 5 days for a claim to be processed with the longest being 8 weeks, it really isn’t done in any particular order.0
