Do you "swallow spiders in your sleep" ?

BBC reckon that we swallow 8 spiders per year in our sleep
I don't believe that I have ever swallowed a spider - in my sleep or whilst I am awake....

I heard it was 7 over our lifetime! 8 a year seems a lot...
I once woke up to a spider webbing down from the ceiling 6 inches from my face

If you place conkers (they are poisonous) around the house, that should keep spiders well away.1

Thanks for the tip @rebel11 I am going to give that a try as I really don't like spiders in my bedroom at night.
I read a quote recently..."whoever said 'out of sight, out of mind' clearly never had a spider disappear behind the furniture in their bedroom"1 -
I'm gonna say probably not... I reckon we eat small flies though. Those annoying ones that seem to buzz around your ears but are too small to see. I'm sure I must have inhaled a few of those!
I'm not sure how effective the conker trick really is. My Nan had loads around her place yet it was still full of cobwebs. I've been using some spray repellent which contains mint and lemon around window frames...but that doesn't work either.

Spiders in our house are huge and intelligentThey carry conkers about the ceiling and wait until we are under them and drop conkers on our heads !2

Spiders are harmless. Let them roam.
If you do eat them in your sleep is that classed as a meal, Do you have to start fasting again from the beginning?

Yes please, can I have cute and fluffy.
I don't actually mind spiders as long as they stay in their corner. Eat the flies, stay in the corner ceiling, it's an arrangement we have.1 -
