We have grown a turban squash plant, though only 2 of the flowers pollinated to produce fruits. The other flowers had bugs, which we thought were damaging them so tried to wash them out. Turns out they were harmless but the washing out of the flowers prevented them getting pollinated!

It's her first year gardening (I am merely labour help) but she's grown so many plants quite successfully. The only plant that entirely failed was the first attempt at growing shallots. They were planted late February and it was far too wet and the compost was too water retaining. Pretty much everything else at least one plant has made it to fruiting/harvest.They/Them, however they are no wrong pronouns with me so whatever you feel most comfortable with
