I received the attached text message from these people. My PIP is being reviewed this is not a new claim. Please can you kindly tell me if this means I will have a face to face with these people and why this might be? I have a support worker and we filled in the review form correctly (because he's trained to do it) Cr@pita lied about me 6 years ago and I didn't get what I should have done so I'm not looking forward to this one but at least I have the support worker now. I've been very poorly especially over the last few weeks and have been diagnosed as having a heart problem which I'm waiting for a cardiology appointment for, so I really could do without this. This text actually came while I was in hospital. Thank you.

Hi @haam - I'm afraid this just looks like a standard text that really doesn't tell you more than you already know.....they are the assessors looking at your claim, & will contact you if you need an assessment. Most PIP assessments are still by phone, but on occasion a face to face assessment is needed.0

Thank you. Do the DWP not make decisions themselves and just automatically send the paperwork off? I remember the 'assessors' kicking off years ago when we asked for my ESA to be paper assessed and my GP actually wrote them a long letter giving them all the information they asked for and they still kicked off. I can't remember what happened but they paper assessed in the end but they weren't best pleased about it.0

Sometimes they will make an in-house decision on a review if evidence allows. If they still need to have you assessed, this will be passed over. Paper-based assessments are rare for all benefits and I always advise people to expect and prepare for one.haam said:Thank you.
