Feedback please? 9th Sept got PIP Form. Form dated 25th August! Return by 25th Sept.

So they are giving me 2 weeks to fill the form even though it was 'in the mail' two weeks? Have other people experienced this two week delay in having a Form delivered effectively giving you just two weeks to fill in the form?
In the past even with 4 weeks to fill in the Form, I've had to phone for an extension. What the heck am I supposed to ask for now - and extension for late postage and extension for doing the form?

Hey @NoOne, filling in these forms is a really stressful experience. Even when you have 4 weeks, never mind 2.
You can call up and ask for an extension to fill in the forms. As an example, I was struggling to fill in the forms so I called them, they gave me an extension of 10 extra days and the person on the phone even mentioned I could ask for more if needed.0 -

Are the Letters tracked so they will know it took two weeks to be delivered?
Why advise against that? I've always done it that way to give me a day or so longer to work on the Form and to assure myself they have the Form so can't cut me off because it was late/didn't arrive.

I'm just afraid they will not believe me or be funny with me as two weeks in limbo sounds far fetched - hence the reason I was asking if this was happening to others. Might just be me as things happen to me like this.And because it's a person on the phone it's simply I'm afraid of phoning because something else will happen.0 -
Well today I finally got enough courage to phone. I have got a good extension. Good enough I don't need to worry so much about not completing it to my upmost ability.I also asked about what you said Woodbine and the man said they recommend sending the Form back tracked.0

I sent mine back special delivery. Gave me peace of mind they had received it.

Completely agree with @woodbine - a free Certificate of Posting gives a date to prove when you've sent anything to the DWP. Mail to the DWP is received in Royal Mail sorting centres in Wolverhampton where it's 'signed' for in bulk if a recorded/tracked service is used, & then it takes time to get to the DWP & get loaded onto their system. It's also incredibly rare for mail to be lost speaking from personal experience of selling some 4-5 thousand books online. Proof of posting, which it's wise to get, is all you need.

OK thank you all. Pros and cons. Something in the mix though is how could my Form have taken two weeks to get to me. If it happened on my returning it might become a problem if it caused my PIP to stop because two weeks is a bit much.

Happening everywhere at the moment. I have had hospital appointments sent out 1st class that took almost two weeks to get to me. Some things never turned up at all. Not sure what is going on with Royal Mail but things have taken a lot lot longer to arrive lately. I am not the only one to notice it, various twitter posts have said the same thing

I had to phone 3 times to ask for a new form as the first two never arrived! Had to get myself prepared mentally to call them, nightmare. I sent it backed tracked purely for my own piece of mind, I didn’t care who signed for it, I was happy it was with someone lol1

A reason I had to ask for an extension is because the forms did take quite some time to get to me. Almost makes me wonder if it's really Royal Mail because whenever I post anything by royal mail it's never been 10 days late

I'm really lucky with my post, bar the Christmas strikes last year everything has come to me on time. I'm also fortunate that I didn't have anything major coming (like a PIP review form), or else... 0
