LCWRA is part of UC and increases your maximum entitlement by £390.06/month. It will be included in your usual monthly payment.

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition. Providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of that and continued to send them without any gaps until the decision was made on your WCA. It's not paid at all during the waiting period.

If you reported your health condition/sent first fit note on 8/6/2023 and you usually receive your UC payment on 20th of every month then your waiting period will be as follows. ..

June/July, July/Aug, Aug/sept.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 14th Sept to 13th Oct and first payment will be 20th October. No LCWRA element is owed. You need to check your next statement to make sure the element is included.

The above advice is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.
