in Start here and say hello!
Hi im Becky and im mum to 2 girls; 7 and 12 years. My 7 year old has a language processing disorder and my 12 year old has autism, hypermobility and sensory processing disorder. Just wanted to introduce myself :)

    Thank you for the welcome! Struggling a little at the moment with different things. The heat is a little bit hot! haha 
    I have had my second EHCP refused for my eldest so my head is a little mashed tbh and really confused and angry!  i have emailed the relevant people to get some mediation started. However, i cant help thinking its going to be a waste of time.

    @butterfliesscrapbook I'm so sorry that your eldest had it denied. If you need any support with the process, we have a section on the forum called Education. You may find posts from other members that could be helpful :) I do help the mediation helps!

    Do you know why it keeps being rejected @butterfliesscrapbook? - this might help you with arguing your point in mediation. How did your call go? Please don't hesitate to let us know how things are going for you, more recently, and if you would like to talk to us further about this or if there's anything else we can do to help  :)

    @L_Volunteer we have been told its due to the lack of plan do review as evidence but sadly I don't believe it. I honestly think it comes down to not whether or not she needs one, but the funding and or resources to provide one. It really saddens me that I can't move on from this and find another school until her ehcp is in place.

    @L_Volunteer we have got a mediation call booked for 31st July but school senco can't do it because its after school closes for summer. So looks like we will have to re-arrange it  😕

    ** UPDATE ** 
    we won mediation, have had an assessment done and now awaiting the EP, but they have gone over the completion date by 2 weeks so I have put in a complaint to the director for families and her PA has told me they will get a response ASAP!
