Has anyone here noticed how mps never give a straight answer?

    I believe part of the reason is the way the media works now. A single miss-step/miss-saying will be played over and over. It's all about saying things without actually saying anything so it can't be "used against you" later. 

    It's much easier to say a lie or have words twisted into something else than it is to counteract with the truth.

    Newspapers for instance can twist the words or post lies on their front page but if they make a correction it's in tiny writing in the middle of the paper somewhere. I think if newspapers need to correct an article the correction should be in the same place and cover the same amount of space as the original article/headline. Might make them think twice before posting lies?

    It's just made people trust politicians less though.

    I do think that while our system has changed the way it's perceived as completely changed.

    We are supposed to vote for individuals, but now we vote for party, and the individuals tend to put party over constituents and country anyway. The system should change to reflect this in my opinion, we should just vote for a party and have the seats divided proportionally.

    It's an MPs job to steer answers back to things the party wants to highlight, not to give actual answers.  And always talk with a closed fist and point with their thumb.  :D

    Gets you thinking, 'Right Honorable', not much of that going on. 

    There are MP's who put their 'Heart and Soul' in the Job, but then you have many who couldn't 'give a flying fig'. 

    Politics seems to be about 'competing ideas'. Parties, individuals etc

    When things are working, a new minister will come and change things to show how good they are, their ideas, etc. 'It all ends in a pickle'. No responsibility, a Cabinet Reshuffle.

    I wonder if the electorate voted on ministers, if that would improve the Government.
