Hi, my name is sally123! Assessor hung up on me.

New to this and would like some advice..I applied for pip in June, had telephone assesment beginning of October about 15 mins into the phone call the assessor hung up on me..when I contacted capita they said they would investigate this and I would be contacted in a few days,, capita rang me a few days later and said they are going to try and do a paperbased assessment instead, that was 3 weeks ago, thin is I didn't submit any evidence with my claim 🥴,,would this effect it? Also has anything like this happened with anyone else?  I have Bi polar disorder PTSD OCD and anxiety so this happening has heightened all of these 😫

    Hi @sally123, welcome to the community :)

    We often get bad stories about assessors but an assessor just hanging up on you is a new one! A paper-based assessment will be based off exactly what you wrote in your forms. You can still send in evidence to the DWP, it will not be a part of the paper-assessment but it will be there for the decision maker. It will also be considered in any MR or tribunal down the line as well. 

    If you've not received a text from the DWP that they've received the assessment report then it has not yet been done, so you may still have time to send evidence into capita.

    You don’t need medical evidence for a successful PIP award. If they can do the paper based assessment they will. Once the report is written and returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

    Thankyou for your replies, IL maybe ask my GP tomorrow for some updated medical evidence and forward on to the DWP, but yes the assessor said her equipment wasn't working... Would have liked the chance to explain myself on assessment to be honest 🙄also feels like I'm waiting so long

    Hi I'm waiting on my tribunal.. because I never filled a application form so the assessor had nothing to go off. But went ahead with the assessment after me saying I never filled an application form. What do you think the judge will say about this

    The hearing will continue as normal. If a claimant has a vulnerable marker on their file DWP can use their own discretion and continue with the claim, rather than refuse the benefit without at least having an assessment. What was the reason why you didn't fill a form in?

    I would have certainly filled an application form had one been sent out.. when I got my assessment date I warned them I hadn't had a form to fill out, so they were well aware. On the day of my assessment they were told again I did not fill a form out because I didn't receive one.. the assessment went ahead
