PIP Backdating

I have just received my letter saying I have been awarded both daily living and mobility with enhanced fees on both and the letter tells me that I will recieve the money on the 1st Feburary 2024 with the money that I would have received from the 10th January 2024 to the 1st Feburary. What is confusing is that I thought the PIP was supposed to be backdated to when you first made the claim but my letter does not say this anywhere.

The letters can sometimes be confusing, your award should be from when you made you application.

The only time it’s not paid from when you rang to start your claim is if you’re either transferring from DLA or you didn’t have the difficulties for at least 3 months when you claimed.

If those don’t apply then you will need to ring PIP tomorrow to ask them.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
