Whether she would be better off in a special school at senior level depends on a lot of things, including how she's managing now, and how much support she has at the moment.  Does she have a statement (Statement of Special Educational Needs) or an ECHP (Education, Health and Care Plan) now?  The best place to start would be to get in touch with the SEN team at your local authority, and talk it through with them.  How do her teachers at school now think she's doing?  Have they talked about whether she would be better off in a specialist provision?  The reason I ask is that if they think she'll manage okay in mainstream then you will probably have a fight on your hands to get a specialist place for her. Maybe it would be worthwhile getting in touch with special schools near you and asking if you can have a look around?  If you could see what their classes are like then you might be able to have a think about whether she would be better off there?
