5-year old grandson is hitting other kids in school, Cams say he has complicated issues

I have a 5 year old grandson who is going through the system he is hitting other kids in school having mothers having a go at her we went to Cams who state he has complicated issues and they are sending him down the neurological route but it's a long waiting room. Any suggests?

    The school have a duty to keep him and other children safe. It is their responsibility to ensure he is not given the opportunity to hit out. If your grandson is not capable of regulating himself just now then it's reasonable to expect an adult to do this for him. 
    My sons school did this with him and it works. He was assessed by camhs and diagnosed with autism. He has one to one adult support within school.
    do not expect your grandson to suddenly change due to sanctions consequences or sticker charts as these have no impact on a lack of impulse control.
    also look at the times he has these problems, does it happen in a quiet classroom where things are structured or more likely at unstructured times like break times and lunchtimes? Pinpoint the times he struggles and where he needs help. Good luck.

    I have posted information recently about Autism Spectrum on this link. It depends on the waiting list at CAMHS how long it will take. My experience of CAMHS and Education System was shocking.
    There are numerous issues overlapping in Autism Spectrum.
    Can I suggest you look at this website . There is a rare subtype of Autism Spectrum called Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome. PDA. The main issue is Demand Avoidance and the lengths these children go to because the anxiety is off the scale. If this rings any bells the support must go in immediately , you must use PDA Stratagies . Look at the questionarre.  You can have PDA on its own or with Asbergers . 
    Often ADHD is diagnosed . ADHD is not naughty children it's ADD with hyperactivity.
    The measures used for PDA are completely different to normal Autism.
    You must also make sure that the co Morbid issues are assessed like Dyspraxia , dyscalculia, Dyslexia.

    Just guessing by the username you live in Wales. If you do just using this as an example you can check what you are entitled to in the Education System where you are.
