Claiming PIP and carers element

Hi I just wanted to check if this is allowed.

I signed up to UC and put my self as my sons carer which I am so I get carers element.

i was just awarded PIP can my husband claim carers element for me? My illness means that some weeks I can look after my son and even when I can’t physically do things for him I have to still keep him in the same room as me to keep him safe and he has to sleep in my bed due to his Autism.

Will I get in trouble getting PIP and carers element, especially if my husband puts in a carers element claim for me?

    If your PIP includes the daily living part and your husband doesn’t claim the LCWRA element for himself. 

    No, you won’t get into trouble for claiming carers element for your son and PIP at the same time. You said your PIP award is only recent so clearly there were no issues with that. Many people claim carers element and PIP.
