Goodmorning all. I am new here and last week had my assessment for PIP, however looking on here it seems most people get a text within a short time from DWP to say their report has been received, I've not recieved anything yet, is this normal? Sorry if this has been answered before but I have never claimed before and finding it all a bit confusing 😕

Yes this is perfectly normal, I can take a couple of weeks before you receive a confirmation text, the time varies from person to person. And with their backlog of claims things are getting delayed. I hope this helps, I would request a copy of your report from the DWP when you receive the text just so you can point out any mistakes before a decision maker finishes your claim.1

thank you! I expected the worst, just the nature of GAD, the review had taken its tole on me, today after hearing about my review news was the first time i have smiled in many months, this current feeling is rare for me, so to be able to give back to the community even if it was only short advise brings joy into my heart. I'm going to ride this high for as long as it last which for me may be 1-2 days but its still somethingTheManFromLondon said:
Good to see you are a changed person. I read you troubles in your previous posts with GP, MP, and Equality act, and so forth and I was so worried you were a broken human being. So happy you changed overnight and now give something back to the community. I would have never thought you suffer from any kind of MH destress if i had read only this post. I guess it confirms how hidden MH disability is.Drausus said:Yes this is perfectly normal, I can take a couple of weeks before you receive a confirmation text, the time varies from person to person. Amazing.
Thanks again 2 -
It can be a really confusing process @Dawnie1610, you're not alone in that feeling! As Drausus mentioned above, it can vary a lot how quickly texts and things come through. Some people get them really fast, others are waiting a few weeks. Fingers crossed yours comes through soon

Just called Capita to find out why it hasnt been sent and it appears that it has been pulled for audit, so looks like ive got a couple of weeks at least to wait until DWP get it.0

After phoning yesterday to see where my assessment was, I then had a text last night from DWP to say they had received it and I will here something within 8 weeks, seems a bit of a coincidence that it was received, 3 hours after i chased Capita for it.1

Well I really am impressed with the way my claim has been handled, calked today for a copy of my assessment was very polite to the lady I spoke too, and she told me there is a letter on its way to me, and that I had been awarded std daily living. I really can't fault the whole process, applied 19th Dec had Assessment 23rd January, first payment due to go in 15th Feb.0
