Has anyone bought portable hoist that fits in to car boot. Cheapest quote I've had to hire for weekend £500!

Hi @MSmum99,
Wow, that's a lot! We had a conversation about hoists a couple of months ago:

A few ideas there, including someone suggesting searching to see if any grants are available?

Thanks for the links. I'm willing to fund myself - does anyone have suggestions on hoist type/make?

Great thread, we are looking to get one too (as small as possible) so will keep an eye on this

I would iike to lobby or raised awareness of hotels adding hoists. Have already contacted premier to roll out what they are doing in London. Any there ideas where to start?

Hi from Fm. What kind of hoist do you need and how much weight do you need to lift? I too have a lifting problem as I have a damaged back and groin and I've got to replace a window frame in my home and both the old one and the new one are too heavy for me to lift and my friend who normally helps me now also has a disability with his fingers so I've got to do it alone so I've turned to the centuries old solution of the block and tackle. And I've recently searched online and I've found one with a six to one mechanical advantage which the suppliers claim can lift up to 180Kg, which is just under 400lb and it only costs just under £7! So I've ordered one and I'm waiting for it to arrive. It's at www.midlandstoolsupplies.co.uk Fm.
