Hi guys , hope you are good . I was awarded pip backdated on Monday the 19th 2024. I phone yesterday 26th , to ask when I would get my first payment. I got the letter saying I was awarded, but no phone call or text . So I asked them about the payment, went through security, they then asked me a series of questions, have I been to jail , left the country, confirmed bank details and asked if I wanted it all in one lump sum. It’s 3 years backdate . They told me it could take up to 6 weeks to get first payment . Is this normal?
Thanks

As you were asked questions about hospital and prison was this a decision made by a Tribunal? 3 years to wait is a very long time. If it was by a Tribunal then up to 8 weeks is the timescale. As they've already asked you those questions then hopefully it won't take too much longer.

I thought it may have been a Tribunal but 3 years is an awful long time to wait!
