Hello.
I'm soon to move into a flat which I will have to pay 5 weeks rent upfront. Which will equal about 600£
I'm just wondering in April when its the new financial year, will I be able to apply for DHP for a backdated payment?

A backdated payment? If you need help with rent in advance now then you should apply now.0

That doesn't mean you can't apply now, you can apply for a DHP anytime. When you are moving?0

I tried to link the Newcastle under Lyme DHP site but the mods won't allow me to link0

It needs to be approved before it will be posted

DHP is a fixed pot of money, quite likely that they've now run out of funds for the current financial year.0

Wow I've never known them close applications towards the end on the financial year. People move house all the time and not everyone has the funds to pay for rent in advance.
I'm afraid I don't know if you can backdate it. If you've already paid that rent in advance they may ask how you managed to do that and where you got the funds from. I'm not saying don't apply because I always say, if you don't ask, you don't get it.0
