How are people getting on with their PIP claims?

Hi I am 66 years old with a number of health issues.I have just had to apply for pip wonder how other people are getting on with their claims, seem to be a lot of people loosing their claim from dla to pip

    Yes, @suex50, many people, myself included, who were getting DLA are now getting less under PIP and some have not been awarded any PIP at all.  However, over 60% of appeals are successful.

    Hi suex50, I was on DLA enhanced rate mobility, no care component. 
    Applied for PIP, had assessment, recieved my award. All in 7 weeks. 
    I now get standard rate mobility and standard care. My motability car is going back soon. I wasn't expecting the care component of PIP, all I wanted really was to keep my car. 
    I don't know whether this PIP thing is a cost cutting plan of the government or not, because now I am (going to be) getting more money than I had before. Plus my husband can now claim carers allowance. 
    But I have no car. 
    I am appealing.

    I received the same rates but instead of being indefinite like my DLA was, I now have a five year award

    Yes, Zec, I was on indefinite DLA as well. 
    Now I am on a 5 year award, too..

    I'm also on five years.  The paramedic assessor has decided the rate at which my rheumatoid arthritis will get worse!  Pity she didn't ask my rheumatologist - but no doubt a medically-unqualifed Atos assessor knows better than a specialist!

    In the majority of cases I've heard about those who were on higher rate mobility DLA have been given standard rate PIP mobility, and without adequate assessment of walking ability.  I think assessors have been told by DWP that the default assessment for mobility is standard rate - they appear to resent having to pay for cars for the disabled to get around in.

    I think that moving people from DLA to PIP is all about cutting costs.  I'd say it's rare for someone to get more money as WaterLily has - but, of course, she has lost her car.

    Yes it is all about Cost Cutting, they are trying to get as many people off as possible, they do not realise the impact this is having to some people..
    it is so stressful and humiliating to have to tell so many people ...then they demoralise you by minimise what your suffering with..
    they would soon change their minds if they they "walked a Mile in our Shoes" lol
