Looking for paediatric orthopaedic surgeon with CP experience
We already tried Botox Injections and tendon lengthening surgery. We are now looking for a medical assessment and a management plan, so our son can reach his full potential - whatever that is. We will be staying near Derby/Nottingham so we are looking for somewhere not too far away from there.

Hi Devixco
I work for Scope and have just seen your post from September you may find the following helpful.
Scope is not in a position to recommend specific surgeons and specialists however you may find the following website helpful. It is an online directory of consultants and GP’s in the UK and may have information on medical professionals that specialise in cerebral palsy in the geographical areas you are looking. http://www.specialistinfo.com/b_directory.php
I need to stress that I have no personal experience of this web site so please treat with care.
You may also find the Bobath Centre [although in London] helpful too – they are a specialist treatment and training centre dedicated to supporting children and families living with cerebral palsy. Please note this can involve staying in London for some time to get a comprehensive assessment and plan and there is a charge for their services. Here is a link to their website: http://www.bobath.org.uk/about-us/welcome

There is an orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in cp Mr. Stephen Cooke. Not sought his advice myself but was looking for a surgeon with a more in depth knowledge of CP. I did receive an email in answer to my query and he seemed very helpful. I would have gone ahead with a consultation, for a second opinion, but the appointment came through for my local hospital. Good luck
