My husband has been diagnosed with Advanced cancer, we live in a first floor flat with one flight of stairs to our door, he can no longer get up the stairs so is housebound most of the time if he goes out the stairs cause him a lot of pain and breathing problems. I am looking for advice for organisations which could help us move from a private rented flat into a ground floor one but I am hitting my head against a brick wall no one seems to be able to help with our situation. Could anyone offer some advice?

Hi @SusanM welcome to the community, I am sorry to hear about your husband's illness.
There is lots of information about housing on the Scope website and also there is a downloadable guide to accessible housing.
You could also be entitled to financial support, so it may be worth you checking out the Benefits Calculator.
The Macmillan site has some housing information too.
I hope this helps you a little.Scope
