I would leave a message on the journal. They might still need to see the statements, so it’s best to check.

Your partner starting work doesn’t mean there’s no entitlement to UC going forward. Whether there’s entitlement will depend on your circumstances.

Your partner can report the changes once they start work and see what happens with entitlement or you can use a benefits calculator to check.

With regards to the bank statements yes you will need to make sure you send what they’ve asked for, otherwise they could make you pay back everything you’ve claimed.

I've done the calculator and it shows we are entitled to nothing now.

I can provide everything it's not a problem we sold some things like baby stuff and a xbox etc so some payments have gone into my account. My dad also lent us some money etc would that be a problem?

I think it’s only a problem if it’s more than £6000. I could be wrong though.

Yes, that’s correct. Money from selling items and from family/friends is treated as capital. If that takes your total capital to more than £6,000 then changes should have been reported and there will be a deduction of UC for every £250 or part thereof over that amount .

More than £16,000 and entitlement ends.

Oh god I wish. I'm taking about 100 here and there to help with fixing my car and general bits and bobs

Are you saying your capital went above £6,000?

No I'm saying I wish it did because I hate claiming benefits
