in Universal Credit (UC)
Hi dose anyone no as im just try in to find out but i can’t seem to find any information. if you Get  Carer Allowance because u care for a child that on dla middel rate care. But Your about to Get move over to universal Credit will i have to go to work focus Appoiments and have to be looking for work ? Just i haven’t had to do that on The old system and im just feeling Very worried to wots going to happen  ? Thanks in advance

    Hello @Sky1 and a warm welcome to the community.

    As a carer you won't be asked to attend work focused appointments. When you apply for Universal Credit be sure to select the options in the application to say that you are a carer and fill in the details about who you care for.

    Hi @Adrian_Scope Thank you for Your reply. And that Great.  so just to double check that i got it right i won’t have to go to work focused Appoiment or have to be down for looking for work if im on Carer Allowance when im put on to Unversal Credit and put that im a Carer to my son on The form is  that correct ? Ive Been so worried that it was going to be a different set up to wot im on The old system so hopefully i have nothing to worry about. When im put on to Unversal Credit  Sorry to be a pain just i been so worried to wot is going to happen as im my son sole Carer.

    No, as a carer you will have no work commitments. You maybe expected to attend your first appointment as a new claimant but after that no further appointments are needed. 

    Please also note that the carers allowance is deducted in full from any UC entitlement. May I ask which benefits exactly are you transferring from?

    Hi poppy thank you ive been so worried thank you for this info im gonna be transferring from the old system of child Tax Credit Incomesupport and Housing Benifit.
