What's your favourite dunk?

As the controversial debate over which is better, coffee or tea (coffee), continues to rage in the community coffee lounge, we thought we'd throw another of life's searching questions at you.
What's your favourite biscuit or other snack food to munch on alongside a hot beverage? And do you have any particular dunking tips or tricks that you'd like to share with the community?

I daren't dunk biscuits very often they'll make me put on weight! Occasionally, I'll have a slice of coffee and walnut cake (over 600 calories) or a giant Belgian chocolate chip cook (though they look quite innocent they contain around 500 calories!) with my coffee as a treat.

So many treats, so little time. When it comes to dunking though I'd go chocolate hob nob every time for its staying together power. Yum yum.
-
I like a plain hobnob (never chocolate) and a ginger nut...
I occasionally will have a kitkat and bite each end of and use it as a delicious straw...Scope

I'm actually on a diet right now, so it's bananas all the way, but that giant belgian chocolate chip cookie sounds pretty appealing @matilda. And @sam_scope, KitKat straws sound like a work of genius!
-
I usually just eat any biscuit I have before my coffee's cool enough to drink.
-
I'm not usually a dunker when it comes to my hot beverages, however, I'm rather partial to a piece of biscotti when drinking a coffee if I'm treating myself to a Starbucks or Costa...
One of my friends from uni used to swear by dipping in a KitKat with your cup of tea and using the KitKat as a straw? yuk!!!
-
@Kirsty_Scope your friend is very wise...Scope

Haha! She was from up North as well - maybe the KitKat straw is a Northern delicacy?
-
One of my flatmates is from up Cumbria way and frequently has a pie in-between two slices of bread for dinner, not sure if this is a northern thing or not!
-
I think pie butties are a north west thing!Scope

@Chris_Scope
ha ha ha.
chip butties, crisp butties, fish finger butties etc...... But a Pie butty is a new one on me. -
I wrote quite a bit more in that last post but it disapeared? Thats happening a lot to me here this evening. Im finding it a bit frustrating cos I hate Typing! Seeing it all go missing is kind of maddening ☹️

Hi @bendigedig
I get that a lot too on here - you type a lot and then it disappears. Yes it is very frustrating . I find it happens a lot using an iPhone or iPad device if you insert smileys from the devices keypad. If you use the smileys from the community toolbox instead it won't happen so much
Best wishes -
@Stayce
thanks so much for taking the time to explain that to me
right enough. I think it started hapening when i used the ipad smilIies?
ill just go back to constructing them with colon and braket etc
thanks -
@Stayce Ive just logged on and noticed the layouts all changed?
they dont do that very often do they? I kind of liked it the way that it was. -
Hi @bendigedig we have had a change of style and layout on the community recently but no, it's not a regular thing to change it up.
Ill pass on your comments about text disappearing and hopefully get this resolved! Sorry for any inconvenience.Scope

@Stayce @bendigedig Sorry to hear about those problems - that sounds really frustrating!
It might be related to the "auto save". The community saves posts when you've been typing for a while, and it sounds like it might be going wrong. Just a theory! Let's try turning it off for now - let me know if you still get the same problem.
You can also check your drafts: https://community.scope.org.uk/drafts to see if your messages are in there.

Regarding the layouts @bendigedig, it may also be that you've either changed devices or you've resized your window. Our website automatically adjusts for mobile and table devices, so things will look a little different depending on whether you're on a desktop computer or a mobile phone.

@Chris_Scope
okay, ill calm down about that now then . I get a bit edgy about things changing around me.
