hospital stay

Hi
I am due to go into hospital for surgery soon and will likely have to stay in for 1 night. Do I need to let DWP know about this as a PIP claimant?

No, it won’t affect your PIP. Only hospital stays of 28 days or more affect PIP.0

I see @poppy123456 says it won’t affect pip but do you need to notify dwp of this and potentially uc0

well i never notified anyone well from the dwp when i was in hospital when i had gallbladder problems and eventually its removal, but i don't get uc, so no idea on how that side works0

The day you go in and come home do not count as hospital stays. If you go back in within 28 days then they will be treated as linking days and will be added together with your previous stay.poppy123456 said:Only hospital stays of 28 days or more affect PIP.
Details for UC are here.https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/resources/benefits-hospital#_Toc1196700500 -
