Hi, my name is Pamski! How can I become eligible for the backdated payment?

I'm new here, hopefully you all can advise me.
I was trying to get a backdated payment for use of a second bedroom (my husband is ill and needs his own space) but I was "outside the assessment period" now they have asked me why we didn't summit a change of circumstances sooner.
From anyone's experience is there anything I can say to the Decision Maker that will make me eligible for the backdated payment?
Many thanks in advance

This is for housing element for UC. You just need to tell them why you didn't report the changes earlier.0

Hi Poppy,
Thanks for replying. They have already declined the payment but I hoping to get them to reconsider. Maybe I need to be more specific with my reasons.

Heya @Pamski and welcome to the community.
I can see Poppy has already jumped to your side to help here, but I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. Hopefully if you're an open book with the decision maker, they may change their mind? I'll keep everything crossed for you.
