Hi I rang pip yesterday regarding my son’s claim, I’m his appointee.
the woman said there was a decision and told me the decision over the phone.
i rang again today to find out when it would be switching from dla to pip and the man I spoke to said he couldn’t see the decision?
He spoke to a case manager who told him there wasn’t a letter on the system so they couldn’t tell me what he got awarded or didn’t.
im so confused.
could the lady yesterday of been mistaken?
I now have to go back to stressing and worrying. Has anyone had this before?
Thank you

Yes, the person you spoke to yesterday could have given you incorrect information, it does happen. They have been known to send a text message if there's an award, if you gave a mobile number on the form. Texts are not sent if there's no award.

If awarded successfully then his first PIP payment will be about 7 weeks after the decision is made. He will receive one final DLA payment and then PIP starts about 4 weeks later. No money will be owed, even if the PIP award is higher than the DLA award.
