Will my daughter selling things she makes affect my ESA/support group and PIP

in Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Hi, my teenage daughter is home educated due to being autistic and suffering from bad anxiety and she would like to make and sell small hair bows online, to make a little bit of pocket money to spend on herself. As she’s a minor (she’s 14 now), this has to run through me. Would this affect my ESA (support group) and/or PIP?

    No, the amounts involved will not be enough, unless she is planning on competing with Louis Vuitton or something 😅

    She's still a dependent child so no it will not affect your benefits, even if she was earning more than just a little pocket money.

    So can the dependant child earn any amount?

    I know it's unlikely but there have been instances of children buying Bitcoins and things and becoming millionaires

    Yes they can because they are still dependents. A childs capital also doesn't affect their parents benefits, providing the parents do not have access to it.
