Migration onto UC
Hello!
My husband (who is my full time carer) and I recently received Migration notices to go onto UC. I'm currently on PIP (high on both parts) and obviously I'm concerned about this whole thing. What paper work will be both need? Will I need to go to the Doctor for a note even though I'm on PIP? If anyone can give me some answers I'd be grateful.

Hi @PeachyAna90, I understand your worries about migrating to UC. However you should not need to go to a Doctor for notes just for applying to Universal Credit.
There is a section of our advice pages for Moving to UC, as well as some information on possible transitional protection as well. If you are looking to apply for LCWRA (Low Capability for Work-Related Activity) there is a separate assessment for that.
Now that you've received the migration notice you must apply for Universal Credit before the deadline date, which should be around 3 months after the letter was sent out.
If you have any other questions please do ask π

Jimm, a fit note will be needed if Peachy reports their health condition when they claim UC then this will start the work capability assessment process off.
@PeachyAna90 I gave you advice on your other thread a couple of days ago, you can see that here.
As I advised in that thread, your PIP award doesn't automatically entitle you to Limited capability for work and you will need to go through the work capability assessment.

Yes I did see :) when would I have to get the fit note? I'll not be applying until August (date on the letter is 30th August)

When you apply, you will need to report your health condition and then you have 7 days to provide your fit note. If you don't then it can affect when the extra money is paid from if found to have LCWRA. I'd advise you to get the fit note ready for when you apply and then it won't be as stressful.
