LCW to LCWRA

Hi I've just gotten moved from LCW to LCWRA and I'm confused, so after some help please.

I have been on LCW for a few years now.

I declared new health issue 18th October 23.

DWP sent me out a new WCA form which I filled in and returned in 02nd December 23.

My GP filled their form in in January 24.

I received a letter in my online journal stating I have moved from LCW to LCWRA as of today (08/06/24).

My payment date is 18th of each month (12th -11th).

Can somebody please explain what this means in simple terms?

Also when will I receive my first LCWRA payment?

Will it be back-dated?

Any help appreciated

    When you reported changes to your health condition, I would have expected you to need to provide fit notes too. If there were no gaps in your fit notes then the extra money will be paid from the assessment period in which you reported the changes.

    Therefore your first payment will start from AP 12th Oct to 11th Nov and first payment will be 18th November. Money owed will be paid separately to your usually monthly money and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it.

    I have been on UC for 9 years - to top up my money while working, I then became disabled and provided fit notes until I was placed into the LCW group a few years ago. Once in the LCW group I was told I didn't need to provide fit notes anymore. I have had a couple of reassessments and was left in the LCW group until I declared the changes in October - I filled a form in and so did my GP but I didn't have to go to a face to face assessment meeting.

    Will the fact I've not provided fit notes mean I won't get back pay?

    When reporting changes fit notes are supposed to be provided, even though you already had LCW. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision on when to award the extra money from.
