Good Morning - Looking for some clarification please.

I believe my ESA income related support group is linking to my H/b. I receive Premiums as well on my ESA And PIP

I receive Child tax credits lastest award till 2026.

I’ve read that Support group ESA and housing benefit won’t be till 2028 migration - due to saving the government money.

But I receive Child tax credits - will I get my letter soon. So confused.

That information is outdated unfortunately. As of recent weeks, the process has been accelerated. Everyone on legacy IR ESA will now receive a migration letter between September 2024 & December 2025.

However, as you are also in receipt of tax credits, your letter could arrive sooner than that.

Even if the Government hadn't changed the date for ESA/housing benefit claimants this wouldn't apply to you anyway because you also claim Tax credits. I would expect you to receive the letter for migration anytime from now.

Hello @jet2007, as others have already mentioned the migration process is being sped up now and it's likely a letter may not be far off.

You can read about transitional protection here: https://www.scope.org.uk/advice-and-support/transitional-protection-and-universal-credit

That's not correct in this case because jet2007 is claiming Tax credits as well and the migration for those was always going to be anytime from now.

Of course, Child Tax Credits. You are correct Poppy. Goes to show my teacher was right, you should read the whole question before trying to answer, not just read the first line and go for it.

No worries at all Jimm, I've done exactly that myself too if I'm in a rush. I've also been known to read the whole question and still not take in exactly what I've read 😂 …oops
