HAD MY PIP ASSESSMENT - DO DWP GO WITH ASSESSORS REPORT?
Hello All,
Hope you’re all having a great weekend.
I finally had my dreaded pip assessment On Tuesday just gone (4th June), Report was sent off to DWP literally 10 -15 mins after my assessment as i had received the text to say they got my report. I called DWP and asked for it literally within the same hour. My Report was here by Thursday.
She has scored me 10 on Daily Living and 10 For Mobility.
My question is does the Dwp go by the assessors report or by their own accord? Im really anxious at the moment.
Many thanks 🙏🏽
Just a little background, I have always suffered with Depression and Anxiety,
history of Endometriosis,(which has always been bad) but unfortunately my mental health took a turn for the worst after i Lost my mum in 2022 and i was her carer and she was my best friend i lived with my whole life.
She went to Have cosmetic surgery in Turkey in April 2022 and never came home. They punctured her lung during the anaesthetic procedure and then she was put in ICU 2 days later after her op and died 26 days later, the worst part of it all, i couldn’t even be with her because someone had stolen my passport here. May she was repatriated back to the UK, June i had her funeral. I wasn’t able to see her at all because Turkey do not embalm the bodies, i couldn’t wash her, hold her, or even say bye because her body had turned to liquid by then. The last texts i received from her were that she is going to die and i have to help her…. The last memories i have of my mum and they haunt me all the time, her FaceTime calls, i think of it all 😞
I then lost my dog a few months later, n then my house. I got moved to a completely different area with no support and nobody i know. To say my mental health is really bad at the moment is an understatement.
I have PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic attacks and Prolonged grief disorder.
Im on antidepressants and having therapy but i just feel so down without her. Like everything is a drag. I need so much support at the moment.
honestly grateful for this forum, im super anxious about this whole process as i never done it before.
im just worried the DWP case worker will not go with the assessment. I do have tonnes of evidence but I’ve heard they ignore that a lot of the time 😞.
many thanks for reading x

Mostly they do but not always. It has been known for them to go against it but it's rare. Once the report was returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks.
