Why did my PIP stop?

I turned 40, is that anything to do with anything?
My ESA didnt stop, why not?
My ESA increased, why?
Ive been on PIP for about 8 years, does it stop at a set date?
Id call but I have mental health problems that makes it ghastly, and I dont want it to make my ESA stop as well

Hi @HelloFriends and welcome to the community.
That sounds very hard, I'm sorry you've not received your PIP. I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to say why your PIP has been stopped. You're awarded is for a certain amount of time, which can vary and will be on your award letter. But they will send you a letter well before the end date so you can apply for a reassessment. Have you received any letters from the DWP recently?

no I havnt , so why would it stop on my birthday , isnt that a bit odd is it a co-incidence, do they review at your birth date, ?

That's very odd indeed @HelloFriends I've never heard of it stopping or being reviewed due to age, that may just be a coincidence. The only people who could say why it's been stopped is unfortunately the DWP, which would involve you giving them a call. When was your last PIP payment? Have you notified them of any changes recently? Or moved house perhaps?

maybe its because the rates of money change depending on your age ie older is more money usually
like I said I cant call because of mental health problems stress money etc

It doesn’t just stop on any birthday unless it’s ended because you had a review and were refused. Or they sent you review forms and you didn’t return them.
When was the last time you received a payment? Have you been sent review forms in the last year?
Difficult to advise because we can only guess what’s happened. Do you have someone that can ring on your behalf?
PIP stopping can affect ESA if it includes the Severe Disability Premium.

well I havnt got an address to send or receive letters because im no longer at the place I used to live, and I havnt got a fixed address either, so they may know I do not live there so they know I havnt received their letters , its been about 3 years since ive had a review is that normal?

so what happens if they get return to sender on the letters they send you or just can see that you are not at that address , ?

can they just cut off the money of someone vulnerable if they dont know the situation, isnt that dangerous?

They may not get returned. It seems that few people know how 'return to sender' works and just chuck mail in the bin instead.
As above, you will need to contact PIP somehow to find out what's happened.

If you moved address and didn’t inform them then yes it could have stopped because you didn’t return a form.
None of this has anything to do with your age. The only way you’ll find out what’s happened is to contact them. If you have someone that can do that for you then you need to ask them.

Dwp could be sending letters for your esa. They could cancel that too. Try get in touch to explain.
