Do I need to attend 1st commitments interview if Contributions base ESA is transferring over to UC

just that really, do I need to attend the first commitments interview? ESA hasn’t transferred over yet (managed migration), enhanced PIP on both e elements.
I know I shouldn’t need to go to work coach interviews etc but do I need to go to the 1st commitments interview? Is that something everyone has to do for the claim to go through?
thanks.

I have just read that I can ask for a reasonable adjustment to be pinned at the top of my claim saying that appointments need to be telephone appointments, is this correct?

You have read correctly and you can ask for a reasonable adjustment for a telephone appointment.

I asked for a reasonable adjustment and they said they would give me a call for my appointment today instead of attending the job centre in person.

Surprise surprise they didn’t call, said i failed to attend and have rebooked another in person appointment for next week.

CAB had advised the other day to make a complaint but i thought i’d give them a chance, should have known it’s was too good to be true.

Do you know how i go about making a complaint because my access needs are being ignored?

this is making me so ill, if my partner goes into the JC will he be able to speak to someone about it for me? I shouldn’t even have any work commitments

    thanks

You can make a complaint. Details here on how to do that. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/how_to_complain_about_universal_credit#:~:text=You%20can%20complain%20online%20or,if%20you%20want%20to%20complain.&text=Make%20sure%20you%20put%20these,your%20phone%20number%20and%20email

Your partner maybe able to speak on your behalf at the job centre.

I’d also advise you to put a message onto your journal, if you haven’t already. Tell them that you asked for a telephone call as a reasonable adjustment and no one rang.

Let us know how your complaint goes @tootiredforthis. I know, as your name says and you've said yourself, that this is tiring. It's so much hoop jumping to just get what we need. I notice CAB are giving you advice, does your local CAB have any available benefits advisers or advocates that can help you with this complaint?

When the election is finished with, you can also try contacting your new MP about the issue
