Those extra costs - something to throw at MP's once their elected

Some of these i have a 'choice' of not to spend money.
But many don't have this choice.

Clinic appointments. Every 3 months, I 'could' use hospital transport. Uncomfortable, unreliable, slow, and tends to take a longer route. Particularly when my wheelchair using partner accompanies me.

Taxi, there & back just over £50

Foot care, again my 'choice' I could push my GP for foot care under 'recommendations' for those on dialysis (I'm not diabetic) but I doubt I'd get anywhere. Podiatrist £50+ taxis at around £10 each way. And these are minicabs, not black taxis.

Any extra appointments not at the local hospital (most aren't) that £50 again!

Maybe it's cheaper to get a car!

So what are your extras, that your income doesn't cover, or that if claiming your not entitled to?

I know this won't be a popular view because people want to hear certain things but aren't these extra expenses what PIP is for?

I believe it's often advised that PIP is not for daily expenses that everyone has, it's to cover the extra costs of being disabled

The fact that income benefits don't pay enough, and people have to rely on PIP to pay their regular bills, is a fair point but I think bringing out a third benefit would kind of defeat the point of PIP

Better to raise unemployment benefits so they actually cover the cost of living, then leave people able to spend PIP on actually managing their disability
