Pension credit doesn't have an end date so I'm confused here. Why did it end and why do you have an overpayment? Sorry but more information is needed before I can try to advise you.

Hey there @Betfred60 welcome to the community.
I can see Poppy is already poised to help you out with your questions, so I'll try not to get in the way. I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hi. 😊0 -
My pension credit started when I turned 65 and was told it was indefite till 2029
I then got a letter from a compliance officer how phoned me later in the week asking how much I had in the bank etc I was then told I couldn't have pension credit as my savings have gone above the amount I could do so, they then stopped it and I pay back the pension credit I received from 2016,although I was told it was 2029 when I enquired

I don’t believe there is a limit to how much savings you can have on Pension credit. The only thing I can think of is the deductions you have for any amount over £10,000 may have cancelled out your eligibility.

Not 100% sure but I think the savings limit is £6000

@Betfred60 im sorry but that doesn’t make sense because pension credit has no end date. It continues for as long as you remain entitled to it.
Thats not correct. When claiming pension credit the savings/capital limit is £10,000. There’s no upper limit either. For every £500 over £10,000 there’s a £1 week deduction in PC.

I applied for a neighbour and they said he was over the savings threshold.
He had just over £6000 at the time but I am not familiar with the rules.
I only did the online application as he is elderly with no internet knowledge.

Your savings and investments
If you have £10,000 or less in savings and investments this will not affect your Pension Credit.
If you have more than £10,000, every £500 over £10,000 counts as £1 income a week. For example, if you have £11,000 in savings, this counts as £2 income a week.
