DWP historical info
I have read about DWP not accepting old/historic medical history / information - does anyone know how far back dwp accept medical information?
(Basically they’ve used a report from a doctor I haven’t seen since January 2022 and no longer see) thank you all

I've had evidence accepted and used from myself that's been around 6 years old so yes they can use older evidence. Just over 2 years isn't that long to be honest.

I'm not in the situation but I'd think in some cases they have to. I'd think it has to depend on what the info is. Diagnosis five years ago with a cancer that is incurable is obviously different from hurting your leg five years ago.

The period they assess is meant to be at least 3 months of qualifying (your conditions have ben affecting your day to day living for at least 3 months) and then 9 months prospective (will your day to day living keep being affected for the next 9 months by whatever your conditions are).
However, the DWP accepted my evidence of my Crohn's diagnosis from 11 years ago. I could see them potentially not taking into account a doctors note from many years ago that has no long-term meaning relevant to the period of time that is being assessed.

Thank you all. I met this doctor once, she has no idea of my condition now, I have got progressively worse over the last 5 years of being unwell and the last 2 years my symptoms have changed which is why I am seeing a new doctor, as the first doctors diagnosis was not correct

A more recent report would be better than an earlier report from some time ago!
Best of luck with it and just ask away if you have any other questions 🙂

I didn’t have one as when I sent off my review form I was still waiting to be seen by the new department:( I added the referral letters and notes from my gp regarding referral. I’ve got more up to date evidence as been seeing my gynaecologist for about 10 months so will add of that 🤞
