Changing address PIP

Hi guys. I have moved couple of months ago and still didn't update PIP . Did any of u go through same situation before? The reason why I'm asking is because they say that we should let them know immediately about new circumstances, otherwise claim will be stopped or even court proceedings in worst case scenario. I am about to call today but im not sure what to say as I don't want them to stop my claim during the conversation.

All you can do is be honest and say you have moved and you need to update your address. If they ask about when you moved and query why you didn’t update them earlier than I suppose there isn’t much you can say, unless there was a specific reason for why you didn’t?

Moving house is a stressful time for anyone with a lot of addresses to change etc, I'm sure they get this all the time.

PIP isn't means tested and it's not area specific so I don't see a change of address likely to cause any problems at all.

Change of address won't affect the claim or telling them late

It's things like change of condition that affect the claim

Just call and inform them its nothing to worry about

I'm in a similar situation, I cant remember if I changed my address. I moved 4 doors away in May last year, and I changed my details with UC. I thought it automatically updated but I'm wrong. Now I'm worried I'll have my PIP stopped or have to repay them.

Your PIP won’t stop because you didn’t change your address. You will need ti ring them to report the changes because there could be issues for your next review if you don’t receive the forms.

They are different departments and not linked. When you change address you need to contact all benefits departments. It's not benefit fraud and you won't get into trouble.

The only issue would be that if they contacted you by letter then you wouldn't receive it at your new address, which can affect future reviews because you wouldn't receive the form.

You will need to contact them to change your address.
