Motorbility car scheme PIP enhanced
Hey there. I'm on dual enhanced PIP and been looking at the motorbility scheme.
I'm registered blind however my girlfriend lives at a seperate address.
It would save us a noticeable amount to get a motorbility car we believe. Neither of us have applied before and thus have many questions.
It's saying 8 weeks for a decision after application. Does this mean I'd loose my pip component as of the date of the application being accepted?
Car dealers are saying 6 months at least for delivery. Does this mean I'd wait 8 weeks plus 6 months and no pip money throughout that period?
I live in Birmingham and she lives in dudley. Would this be a problem with naming her has the driver?
Also would I be able to get an EV charger installed at her address as I'm unable to drive the car?
All other advice would be greatfully recieved

It doesn't take 8 weeks for a decision on joining the scheme, as you have Enhanced mobility then you can join.
However, you will need to speak to Motability about this because you're not living in the same area. The vehicle is supposed to used for your purpose only and they may not allow you to keep it at your partners address.
You can contact the Motability customer services team on: 0300 456 4566. They open at 8am.
Edit to add, if they do allow this then yes it could take 6 months, sometimes longer for collection of your vehicle. It depends on the waiting lists of that vehicle and spec from the dealer.

Thank you for your response. Would I be loosing my motorbility component whilst I wait for the car to be delivered?
This is a major concern as it'd mean we'd still be covering the existing car and money down of course

No, you only start paying once you collect the vehicle.
