I have just read about the new assessment system. Will the DWP assess those already on PIP like they used to and make the decision to renew the PIP or will the new companies do all the reassessments as well (including those that would normally just be extended due to life long illness/no cure etc)??

    New assessment system? There isn’t one. Everything is the same as it’s always been. There’s a lot of speculation about what may or may not happen in the future but it’s all just speculation.

    Hi @Thomo - & welcome to the community. I completely agree with poppy & AKR; people are getting unneccessarily worried about all this definitely misleading media speculation. Please be reassured that absolutely nothing has changed.

    Hi @Thomo, welcome to the community. As others have said, there's a lot of speculation around, but nothing is changing at the moment. I can understand how it might be pretty worrying to read about, however we haven't heard any solid plans yet about what the government or DWP are planning to do with PIP.
