Migration to UC
I was wondering if someone could also advise me. Myself and my wife are due to migrate to uc. We have 4 children 3 of which receive DLA. My wife is our youngest daughters carer. I am in receipt of PIP enhanced on both elements and receive working tax credits which includes sdp. I work 15 hours a week due to my disabilities. I am aware that uc will expect me to work longer hours which i am unable to do. When i ask my gp for a 3 month certificate i am aware this will start the lcwra process. If awarded will this completely wipe our transitional protection at all?
Thank you for any help

It will depend on how much TP you maybe entitled to. If it's less than £416.19/month then yes it will completely erode it. If it's more than this then it won't erode it completely but you won't be any better off financially either.

We receive around 2k a month in ctc due to disability elements for 3 children. We receive ctc for all 4 of our children. Plus my working tax sdp. We aren't overly fussed about the lcwra money just as long as we aren't worse of but I would need to trigger the assessment as I wouldn't be able to work any more hours than I currently am due to ill health. So if I'm right in guessing from what you said above should keep our tp?

Myself and my family are about to claim Universal Credit.
Every Monday I get Carers Allowance for my Autistic daughter will these weekly payments stop when we go onto Universal Credit or will they stay the same?

I can't tell you if you would keep your TP because I have no idea how much that will be. It will depend on the figures between your tax credits and what your maximum UC entitlement is. My above advice still applies.
You don't have to go through the work capability assessment. You can report being a carer for one of your children and your UC will include another carers element if they claim either mid/high rate care DLA or daily living PIP. Providing it's not the child that your wife claims carers allowance for.
Carers element has no earnings limit like carers allowance does so your earnings will not affect it. As a carer you will also have no work commiments.

Carers allowance will continue as normal and it will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement. You need to make sure you report being a carer and your UC will also include the carers element.
