my middle niece started high school at her special school today

I was scrolling through my Facebook page earlier and I saw a post which my youngest sister had tagged me and other members of our family and friends in. She'd posted some photos of my middle niece stood in their kitchen and sat on the sofa in her school uniform (which doesn't have the school logo on) and saying "this lil lady is starting high school today" and I'd commented saying "where's the tiny lil lady gone as it doesn't seem that long ago that she was starting school. She's not big enough to be in high school yet" and my sister had replied saying that she didn't know either and I'd said to my sister to "ask" my niece's granddad (our late dad) where she is as he might know where his princess is and my sister sais he probably would.

My middle niece is 11 years old now but she's 12 in January next year.
